I have the following system

asus p4p800se
winxppro
2.8 oc to 3.15
BFG 6800oc
1 gig ram

question? Would I see any significant increase in this system, if I were to
upgrade my video card to a BFG 7800gs

Not enough to justify the cost, IMO.

Depends on what your running I guess.

I am getting 6000+ on 3d mark 2005. So far lots of room for oc'ing. I am at
430 core and 1300 mem, at this time with no issues. Seems like most are able
to oc to 495 core and 1400 mem. I am stepping it up a little at time. I also
have an antec vga cooler next to the card. It blows outside air to the card.
I have never seen the temp go over 60c.

Sys Specs

p4 3.2
abit is7
1gig pc3200
bfg 7800gs

Would i see gain in 3d graphics from a 9800 np to a 7800 gs extreme xfx . Is
there justification for me to upgrade . This is games i play RAVEN SHIELD
RAINBOW SIX LOCKDOWN , BLAZING ANGELS , SPLINTER CELL. I understand i get
shader 3.0 with it but will game be better. Will i be better off getting a
P4 3.0 and moving my current 9800np to it.

SPECS
AMD ATHLON THOURBRED 1800MHZ
9800 NP
CORSAIR 2-2-3-5
NFORCE 2 NF7-S MOBO

DX 9.0C

Yes.

A subjective call on your part. What may be justifiable for me may not be
justifiable for you, or vice vesa.

Sorry, I am unfamiliar with any of those games.

Upgrading your processor to an XP 3000+ would be an option.

If you can afford the the upgrade to a newer processor and motherboard, you
should look at an AMD64 3500+ or better, a PCI-E motherboard, and a PCI-e
video card. A 7900GT isn't much more than a 7800GS and out performs it.

You can tranfer the memory < ddr ram > to the AMD supporting MB while you
might not be able to with an Intel supporting MB that might require DDR2
ram.
