Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware (more info?)

Hi, I have Windows ME installed and have an Intel 536EP modem which has
installed properly. The problem is that I can't seem to find and
installation/driver for "wave device for voice modem". I have searched
google and found many unhelpful answers. The most common response seems
to be that the driver needed has nothing to do with the make or type of
modem you have and that it depends soley on what operating system you
have. Could somebody just tell me exactly what I need to do to get this
working, perhaps a site with a downloadable driver would be very
halpful. Many thanks in advance!

Your best bet is to leave an email with the support people for your modem
type. I found that with these voice modems, the software is very finicky.

I was told that it has nothing to do with the make of your modem though.
I have 2 computers, one of them is a year newer. I am simply moving
my HD and modem from the older computer to put into the newer one. When
I put it in it says it has found new devices eg. the video card etc of
the new computer. It tells me it has found the modem, installs the
driver for it correctly but it still can't seem to find anything for the
wave device for voice modem. Any help would be appreciated!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
