On a related topic:-
Unfortunately, Abit seems to have ceased being a leader in
'enthusiast' desktop montherboard in terms of providing leading-edge
enthusiast functionality and has now resorted to inexpensive (for
them) and poorly-functional gimmicks like uGuru and OTES. The rot
seems to have been synchronous with the appearance of Abit
boards at Fry's. Seems as if Abit management decided to go main-stream
and take on the #1 tier quantity-suppliers head-on in the mid-priced
motherboard arena with additional 'added-value" (??) features such as
uGuru. This may have been a desperation move, since there have been
negative rumors about Abit's finances. Maybe the strategy will
succeed.. time will tell..However, Abit's interest in producing
state-of-art 'enthusiast' boards earlier and with greater
functionality than the competition seems to have significantly waned.
Abit has currently ceded the 'enthusiast' crown to DFI, MSI and (dare
