Post subject: x2 are (C) 2001?

When I bought my x2 3800 I saw the text "(C) 2001".

Are AMD trying to tell me they've been sitting on dualcore technology
for four years and only now are they releasing it to the public?

It was in development then and they got a copywrite for the technology.
